Waves of Infinity

A Near Earth Rocket Defense survival demo with zero lasers, too much thrust, and entirely irresponsible levels of orbital optimism.

You are a pilot in the N.E.R.D. defense program. Your mission is simple: enter the containment zone, reverse course, and roast incoming asteroids with your rocket booster flames before the field overloads and turns Earth into a cautionary tale.

What is Waves of Infinity?

Waves of Infinity is the current playable field test for the larger Near Earth Rocket Defense universe. It demonstrates the core play loop: fast zero-G movement, asteroid herding, thruster-based combat, and the increasingly desperate art of not dying in a glowing orbital blender.

Instead of guns or lasers, your ship fights with its own exhaust. Thrust toward safety, whip around, and use your booster plume like a space flamethrower. It is elegant, scientific, and almost certainly not approved by any normal aerospace board.

Core rule of survival: the front of your rocket gets you there. The back of your rocket solves the problem.
Absolutely Real Science

The G.R.A.V.I.T.A.S. Field

N.E.R.D. engineers have deployed the G.R.A.V.I.T.A.S. FieldGravimetric Resonance And Vector Induction Trap Array Screen — a highly advanced orbital containment system designed to lure nearby asteroids into a controlled kill-zone near Earth.

Once inside the field, debris bounces, ricochets, clusters, and generally behaves like a cosmic insurance claim. Your job is to clear the zone before containment reaches critical mass. If the field ruptures, you fail the mission, Earth fails existence, and morale suffers dramatically.

“N.E.R.D. reminds all pilots that total annihilation is no excuse for a poor score.”
How To Play

Fly. Drift. Burn.

Fly

Boost around the containment zone using your rocket’s thrust. There is no friction, no mercy, and no button labeled “be careful.”

Drift

Momentum matters. Inertia matters. Overcommitting to a turn while an asteroid pinballs toward your cockpit also matters.

Burn

Reverse course and line up your thruster flame. Your exhaust is your weapon. Roast asteroids before the zone gets too crowded.

Included In This Build

  • Infinite asteroid waves and escalating orbital chaos
  • Zero-G rocket movement with inertia-driven control
  • Thruster-flame combat instead of standard weapons
  • Containment-field pressure: clear the zone or lose everything
  • Local high score chasing for repeat runs
  • Synthwave soundtrack powering your inevitable bad decisions

One More Run Syndrome

Waves of Infinity is built around fast restarts and score chasing. Every run becomes a balancing act between movement control, crowd management, and panic-driven heroics. The field gets fuller, the rocks get meaner, and your decisions get increasingly theatrical.

Stay alive longer. Burn smarter. Beat your local high score. Then immediately ruin that record trying something reckless and glorious.

Where This Demo Leads

This prototype is the foundation for the broader Near Earth Rocket Defense experience: more enemy types, stranger threats, weird orbital science, upgrades, skins, missions, and a solar-system-spanning campaign where N.E.R.D.’s finest continue solving cosmic problems with excessive rocket propulsion.

Download And Enter The Zone

Strap in, light the boosters, and prove that combustion is still a valid strategic doctrine.

Official N.E.R.D. disclaimer: High scores are local. Glory is permanent. Planetary consequences remain under review.
